Leeds United goalkeeper Iran Mesley has linked his move away from the club at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old French goalkeeper has fallen on the backstage of his disappointing performance, with Karl Darlow currently the first-choice goalkeeper in the championship outfit.
According to a TeamTalk report, Rennes and Leicester City are monitoring his situation and they can see them making a move for him in the future. The goalkeeper reportedly revealed he wanted to play regularly, and doesn’t appeal to him even when he sat on the Leeds bench.
It would be interesting to see if he’s on sale in the summer.
The player has signed a contract with Leeds until 2026, and the whites hope to collect a reasonable amount for him in the summer. They wouldn’t want to lose him next year on a free transfer. And it’s unlikely that a French goalkeeper will be on the bench at least next season. It appears the player may have played his final game for the club and he could have moved on this summer.
Leeds should upgrade to Iranian Mesley
Leeds is well placed to ensure promotion to the Premier League, and needs to have better players at their disposal. Meslier can’t live up to expectations and needs to bring an upgrade in the summer.
It will be interesting to see where the 25-year-old goalkeeper ends. He is entering the peak period of his career and he is trying to play regularly. He’s desperate to get back to the best in regular football. It remains to be seen whether Leeds will be able to properly replace him in the summer.
