Leeds is determined to be a significant addition to the team before returning to the Premier League, and it is expected that players who have played in the top division of English football will prioritize. And the person in this category is Ben Chilwell.
The departure of Junior Firpo, whose move to Real Betis became official on Thursday, means Leeds will need a new left back. They have looked at many options and now it is clear that Chilwell is among them.
Leeds is interested in signing Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell
According to a soccer insider, Mick Brown confirmed that Leeds is one of the clubs interested in signing Chilwell this summer.
“Ben Chilwell is planning to leave Chelsea this summer. I think he’s a very good fullback, and he’s shown it at the palace occasionally.
“From what I was told, there are a lot of Premier League clubs watching him. There are a few clubs that rival a good left-back. I know that three promoted clubs were watching. West Ham was also considering that.
“Leeds is one of the clubs that interests him and is trying to strengthen at left back. The manager is determined to strengthen his team after being promoted and hopes to add a Premier League experience to help them.
“So they’re going to be paying attention to Chilwell because it could depend on how much Chelsea wants and what his wage demands are.
Chilwell is a very sensible signature for Leeds and given that he is not counted on at Chelsea, the deal should be achieved. However, given the interest from other clubs, that’s not easy.
