Leeds United have secured a pre-contract agreement with Nigerian defender Leonard Ngenge. Leonard Ngenge will officially join the club in August 2025 when he turns 18.
Ngenge currently plays for Ikorodu city, Nigeria, and is recognized as a promising talent in the domestic league.
The agreement was confirmed by Wale Kudri, sports director of Ikorodu.
“Ngenge has an existing contract with Leeds United. That’s before the contract. He should be in Leeds by August. He was scouted in Nigeria and returned from Leeds two weeks ago. This is his second visit to Leeds.
Leeds United will move in early summer
Ngenge’s performance has attracted attention, and was selected as a Man of the Match, especially for his 1-0 victory over Ikorodu city’s Lovistar.
His ability to contribute defensively and offensively is highlighted, and the report notes his strength in the air duel and his settling to the ball.
Upon arriving at Leeds United, Ngenge is expected to integrate into the club’s U-21 setup, potentially moving on to the rank based on his development and performance.
Leeds plans to continue investing in younger players, as they have done in the past.
Fark will be busy this summer
Manager Daniel Fark is currently celebrating his promotion to the Premier League, but he still has one eye on future relocations.
This is just the beginning of Leeds’ transfer business this summer. The Whites are expected to have a busy summer transfer window, which will be added in offensive, midfield and defensive positions.
Goalkeeper Iran Mesley could potentially leave the club when the championship winner targets Liverpool goalkeeper Khaoimhin Kelehar.
James McAtee of Manchester City has been waking up to white people this summer.
