Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Sam Johnston is ready to leave the club at the end of the season, and Leeds is keen on him.
According to a soccer insider, Leeds United hopes to sign a 32-year-old goalkeeper ready to leave the wolves in the summer in search of regular game time.
Reeds requires an upgrade
Leeds United feel that he could be an upgrade for Iranian Mesley, and it remains to be seen whether they will be able to get the deal done. The French goalkeeper has been pretty overwhelming this season, and he has also lost the starting spot. Daniel Fark wants to introduce upgrades, and Johnston could prove to be a quality addition.
The former Crystal Palace goalkeeper has started just seven league games this season. He needs to move on in search of normal game time. Joining Leeds might be ideal for him. They could offer him more opportunities.
Leeds has been promoted to the Premier League, making it an attractive destination for players. It will be interesting to see if you can secure a contract at a reasonable fee for the player.
The wolf pays the goalkeeper £10 million and is about to collect most of it for him.
Sam Johnston could be a useful addition
Johnston has experience in Premier League football and he could be the ideal takeover for Leeds. Aside from his quality as a goalkeeper, his experience and leadership qualities can also prove to be invaluable.
Leeds hopes to establish himself as a regular in the Premier League and will need to bring in appropriate additions during the summer transfer period. Signing trustworthy goalkeepers must be one of their priorities. It will be interesting to see if they decided to sell Mesurier in the summer and sign John Stone as his replacement.
