Leon Edwards sees Jack Della Madarena upsetting Beral Muhammad at UFC 315.
Mohammed (24-3 MMA, 15-3 UFC) will defend his welterweight title against Delamadrena (17-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at the main event on May 10th (ESPN+Pay-Perview, ESPN, ESPN++) against Delamadrena (17-2 MMA, 7-0 UFC) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The Edwards (22-4 MMA, 14-3 UFC) lost their welterweight title to Muhammad due to a unanimous decision at UFC 304, but they believe Della Maddarena has the style of defeating the champions.
“If I had to spend money on it, I would probably prefer JDM,” Edwards said on “Ariel Helwanishaw.” “I feel like JDM, his boxing is probably something that closes him (Muhammad) and he’s a good anti-grappler, JDM.
“It’s easy to beat him, but I feel his scrambling on the floor is good.
Edwards admits to seeing Muhammad as the champion.
“He said he would have retired if he had lost (at UFC 304),” Edwards said of Muhammad. “This guy hopes he retires because he’s not annoyed.”
Edwards aims to re-enter the title photo when he faces Sean Brady (17-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 255 (ESPN+) main event at O2 in London.
