Leon Haslam provided his immediate response to returning to his victory in the British Superbike Championship.
The Moto Rapido Ducati Racing team won Race 2 at Alton Park on Monday.
It was Haslam’s first BSB victory since 2018.
“That’s very good. Yesterday I was a bit nervous to be honest with you. Wilf took it home and thought it briefly, and when I came in second yesterday, Brad is no longer there,” Haslam said.
“Today I thought I had to go hard from the start, so I managed to move early and get him.
“To be honest, the last five laps were the longest laps ever, and the last lap had some fake neutrals and big moments.
“I was having a hard time getting back into gear and it got too much and it jumped in. It was really a rookie mistake on the last lap and I should have kept it smooth.
“I would like to thank Moto Rapido for all the sponsors involved. It’s been a fierce few years and it’s a great feeling to go back to the top step.”
The first BSB round of the 2025 season at Alton Park ended early due to a major incident in the Super Sports race.
This meant that the scheduled race 3 of the Superbike class did not go as planned.
The two riders later died as a result of injuries in the accident.
