Lewis Hamilton cited the Ferrari ride after spinning twice during Dutch Grand Prix practice on Friday.
Overall it was a difficult day for Ferrari as Hamilton set the sixth fastest time in FP2, surpassing one-eighth of the top time for Landororis.
Teammate Charles Leclerc was not very good overall, finishing 8th.
Hamilton made a spin twice during practice Friday.
The seven-time world champion lost control of Ferrari with his bank’s left-handed approach, but fortunately he locked it out of the barrier.
Hamilton spun on FP2 and ran wide on turn 9.
Describing his spin in practice, Hamilton states:
“In the end, I don’t think the ride is where we want it either, either. The car is very unpredictable.
“Second? I touched the grass and had a snap. That was it. I was pushing it.
Hamilton is confident in finding improvements overnight, but he suspects that he has enough time in the car to challenge McLarens.
“I think before the spin, I was tenths, and then I got another tenth and a half in the final corner,” Hamilton added.
“I have to improve there. We have work related to setup. At the pace, we’re where we are.
“I don’t know where we’re going to find an eighth, but I really don’t. But we’ll try.”
“The Worst Friday of the Season”
Leclerc described it as “probably the worst Friday of the season” for Ferrari.
He believes it is a “wake-up call” that is important for the team.
“It was a very, very, very, very difficult Friday, perhaps the worst Friday of the season,” added Leclerc.
“It’s just after my holiday, so I’m going to wake up.
“We had some difficult Fridays, and now it’s up to us to change things.
“It certainly wasn’t an easy day. FP1 was very difficult, but FP2 was slightly better, but still far from where we wanted to be.”
