Anthony Edwards is not upset with himself after the Timberwolves lost Game 5.

The Minnesota Timberwolves lost Game 5 of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Western Conference Finals and ended the playoff run.

This is the second year in a row when the Timberwolves lost in the conference final in five games. Stephen A. Smith had predicted that the loss would fall outside the Thunder’s big defense.

And he was right. It’s almost a record low for them as Thunder held the Timberwolves at just 32 points in the first half.

Jaden McDaniels had one of the worst performances of his Game 5 career. But that’s another Timberwolves teammate where Edwards feels pain.

After elimination in Game 5, Anthony Edwards spoke about what this loss meant for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He wasn’t upset by himself after yet another WCF elimination, but he felt pain in Mike Conley.

“I hurt more than myself, more than I, more than I. I’ve shortened it for the microphone. I tried it last year, but this year I tried it. I’ll try again next year.

Conley was visibly upset after yet another disappointing Western Conference Final exit for the Timberwolves.

At the same press conference, Mike Conley and Anthony Edwards praised the Thunder’s defense, albeit in a backhanded way.

Conley: “They were defensively in one string.”

Edwards: “15 dolls in one string.”

Of course, considering how tough this series is for them, the bitterness and resilience are understandable for both players.

Where does the Timberwolves go from here? It is clear that their current team is not enough to compete at a high level right now.

What if they hear Kendrick Perkins and trade it for Kevin Durant? KD brings the championship experience and can be the final piece this team will overcome the hump and reach the NBA Finals.
