Liverpool is believed to be willing to pay £67 million to obtain the “exceptional” Mohamed Sarah replacement signature this summer if Reds legend departs.
Questioning the legendary future of Liverpool
Liverpool fans dream of seeing lots of new signatures arrive at Anfield during the summer transfer period, but maintaining the service of their most important players is equally important.
Like most of this season, Trent Alexander Arnold, Virgil van Dick and Sarah have yet to commit their future to the Reds.
Recent reports suggest that Alexander Arnold’s move to Real Madrid at the end of the campaign “99% complete,” but Van Dick suggests Paris Saint-Germain’s offer.
Meanwhile, Sarah has been openly talking about the situation for a few months now, and has largely challenged the club to give him what he wants, but as things stand, it appears he hasn’t come close to extending his stay in Liverpool. Currently, a potential successor to an Egyptian successor is mentioned in the new transfer request.
Liverpool prepares £67 million and signs Sarah’s exchange
According to a report from Spain, Liverpool and FSG are willing to spend £67 million on RB Leipzig’s star Zabi Simons in the summer window. The Reds consider an “ideal” alternative option for him if he leaves.
They believe that the Dutch can bring “dynamism and creativity” to the offense, and it appears that the Bundesliga club are willing to win their record signings, only to join Leipzig permanently from PSG in January.
Needless to say, signing a new deal will remain a favorable option for Liverpool this summer, but if he moves on, Simons might be the perfect option to enter.
At just 21, he is already a very consistent offensive player for Leipzig, scoring seven goals in the Bundesliga this season and chipping with five assists, but Christoph Freund welcomed his abilities and said:
“He’s a very good player. He had a great season with a very good European Championship and Leipzig. He’s grown really well. I think he’s got a really good career at the best level.
Simons enjoyed a memorable personal moment last summer, scoring a great Netherlands goal in the Euro 2024 semi-final against the UK. While his country continued to lose the game, it outlined the abilities that young attackers possess.
Leipzig’s ace is also versatile, with Arne Slot being unlikable and can shine broadly on both sides and in the midfield role during the middle attack.

The club has decided on his future.
As mentioned earlier, Simons hopes it won’t be necessary as it means Sarah is staying, but he could be a big, long-term option to fill the final blank left by Liverpool’s legendary No. 11.
