Liverpool is preparing to compete with Arsenal in pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesco, and according to Ben Jacobs, it could destroy the Gunners’ plans to secure Slovenia International.
Valued at £67 million, Sesko has been attracting great interest after an impressive performance at Bundesliga.
Arsenal is closely monitoring Sesco, with sports director Andrea Berta beginning a discussion with RB Leipzig, exploring the structure of a potential deal.
However, Liverpool’s interest can complicate the issue. The Reds, who are trying to bolster their forward line to replace Darwin Nunes, look at Sesko as a player who can add a new dimension to their offense.
Liverpool can enter the Benjamin Sesco race
Jacobs provided the latest update on Liverpool’s interest in Sesco in his pre-ordered trading show.
“My biggest question mark is above number 9. I hope I can really go to Alexander Isaac.” Jacobs said.
“Would they drop the £100 million that Frankfurt is seeking Hugo Ekichike? They could even enter the race for Benjamin Sesco, even if Arsenal felt like he was ahead at the moment.”
Arne Slot wants a new number 9
Isaac remains the signature of this summer’s dream, but if the Newcastle United man becomes difficult to sign, the Reds can explore other options in the market.
We’ve even seen searching for a new striker at Anfield this summer, which links to Atletico Madrid attacker Julian Alvarez’s move.
Arne Slot saw Nunez struggle to play at Anfield and decided to improve his attack to make it more competitive.
The next few weeks will be important in Sesco’s chase, but as things stand, the gunners will lead the race ahead of Premier League rivals in the race signing RB Leipzig Striker.
