Liverpool reportedly is monitoring Lyon attacker Malic Foffana, and they were able to move to sign him this summer.
Liverpool recently authorised Louis Diaz’s departure for Bayern Munich and needs to replace South America. He was a great player for them, and they were overly dependent on him for their goals and creativity.
Liverpool needs a wide range of players
Liverpool currently lacks depth in the wide area and Mohamed Sarah is currently the only reliable winger at the club, with the exception of Cody Gapppo. It will be interesting to see if they have decided to make a move for the Fofana. The player is also reportedly a target for Everton.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed with GMS that Liverpool is monitoring him, but they have not yet moved forward with the offer.
“Liverpool’s priorities are absolutely Isaac. Fofana has been discussed internally since June, but there have been no bids or discussions so far.”
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool has decided to make a move for the 20-year-old Belgian attacker in the coming weeks.
Marik Fofana is an elite talent
He was a long-term investment for them and they were able to develop him into a future star. He has technical attributes to do well in the Premier League and was able to establish himself as a key player for the club.
Apart from the explosive pace, he adds unpredictability to his attack on Liverpool. They need high quality dribblers who can take on defenders and beat them in one and one situation. They have struggled to open up deep defenses from time to time. Fofana had 11 goals and six assists last season.
The opportunity to join the Premier League champions is extremely exciting for a 20-year-old, and if a transfer is made, he aims to make his mark in English football. The attacker is valued at £35 million, and Liverpool certainly has the financial resources to get the deal done.
