Liverpool is tied to the moves of Brentford defender Nathan Collins.
The Premier League champion reportedly monitors the 24-year-old Central Defender, but journalist Pete O’Rourke claims he is likely to move from Crystal Palace to Marcguech.
Meanwhile, Collins is also linked to Arsenal.
Nathan Collins’ move is unlikely
“Not only is it because it’s Nathan Collins, but I also enjoyed a very good season for Brentford last year, it’s an amazing link,” he told Football Insider.
“There is no doubt that Liverpool is taking a lighter look at the centreback by selling Jarrell Kuanza and continuing speculation about Ibrahima Conate’s long-term future.
“Currently, Mark Guech is a more likely target due to his contract status at Crystal Palace.
“I can’t see Brentford let go of Collins. I’ve seen a lot of other stars leave this summer. He’s become captain. I don’t know that Brentford can afford to let go of him.”
Brentford lost multiple players this summer and has lost his manager since last season. Yoane Wissa could be on the way out of the club soon. It seems very unlikely they will sanction Collins’ departure this summer.
Liverpool needs a defender
It’s no secret that Liverpool needs a quality central defender. They have approved Jarel Kuanza’s departure and Ibrahima Conete could be on his way out of the club next summer. You must sign a quality central defender before the window closes. Collins will be a quality acquisition for them. He has demonstrated his abilities in the Premier League and is undoubtedly enough to make him play for a big club.
It will be interesting to see if Liverpool will try to test Brentford’s resolve with this summer’s offer.
Meanwhile, Gay, he is the final year of his contract with Crystal Palace and could be used in a reasonable amount. Players are pushing to leave the club and want to compete at the highest level. The opportunity to move to Liverpool is extremely exciting for him.
