Liverpool is aiming to sell this summer to raise funds for its transfer business.
The club will suffer financially from the possibility of Trent Alexander Arnold’s loss to Real Madrid, leaving the club as a free agent.
While Reds hasn’t spent much money on the recent transfer window, Arne Slot may need some sales to fund the changes he wants to make at Anfield this summer.
One potential player to move is midfielder Harvey Elliott, who spent more time this season than he was on the pitch.
According to football insider expert Mick Brown, the Merseyside Club has accepted the offer of midfielder Jurgen Klopp, who is called “incredible talent.”
The 21-year-old midfielder faces an uncertain future at Anfield and could be allowed to leave the club as Liverpool is trying to generate funds.
“Eliot is a player I have a lot of time,” Brown told Soccer Insider.
“But not many clubs are willing to pay him £50 million.
“I think he’s a player that a lot of teams want to have. He’s probably a better player than he’s trusted, and Liverpool appreciates him.
“If Liverpool is planning to make some money from his sales, they need to lower that price.
“I think they put that huge £50 million label on him as a starting point, but that can be down.
“In the end, they will be open to seeing what they get and how much clubs pay.
“Especially if he wants to make a move, they might decide they are in a better position if they can bring in a substantial fee and reinvest elsewhere.
“As I say, I’m interested in him, but they’re not going to pay £50 million.”
Liverpool may need to change Elliott’s asking price
Premier League leaders may need to rethink the asking price they set for Elliott.
As Brown says, the club is not planning to pay him £50 million this summer.
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United side is tied to the Reds’ midfielder’s move, but it remains to be seen whether they are willing to pay his asking price.
Elliott has publicly expressed his commitment to Liverpool, but the combination of limited opportunities and club transfer considerations could impact his future at Anfield
In addition to Elliott, Darwin Nunes is another player who can show off the club’s exit door, while still interested in services from Saudi Arabia.
