Liverpool is interested in signing Mason Greenwood at the end of the season, and they will be willing to spend a fair amount on him.
The 23-year-old managed to get his career back on track with a move to Marseille, and he has stood out this season. The former Manchester United striker has 19 goals for his name this season. According to a report by Fichajes, Liverpool will be willing to pay around 75 million euros to close the transaction.
Greenwood wants to play for a big club and the opportunity to join Liverpool could be very exciting for him. The former Manchester United Academy alumni will seek to establish himself as one of the best strikers in the world. Liverpool can use someone with his skill set. They lacked a reliable finisher now, and Darwin Nunes has not been able to score consistent goals.
Mason Greenwood is of high quality
Greenwood is still quite young and has been able to improve even further with his coaching and experience. He was able to develop into a key player for Liverpool with proper guidance. The reported offer of around 75 million euros could tempt Mark to sell players this summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester United will certainly benefit from this move. They will receive a substantial amount if Greenwood is sold in the summer, including a 50% sell-on clause in his contract when he leaves the player.
Liverpool will appear in the league title this season, but they will be disappointed with their performances in the domestic Cup tournament and UEFA Champions League. They’ll want to do well in multiple ways next season, and they need more quality on the side. Signing trustworthy gold scorers must be a priority for them in the summer.
