Liverpool is interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Mark Guech during the summer transfer period, allowing Ben Dork to be used as the make-up class for his contract.
According to Express Via Express, Liverpool is hoping to sign the 24-year-old England international defender, and it is still unclear whether Crystal Palace is ready to accept the Defender’s cash plus player deal.
Mark Guech improves Liverpool
Guehi is outstanding for the Eagles and there is no doubt that he will improve Liverpool defensively. The Reds have agreed to sell Jarrel Kuansa to Bayer Lebakusen and need to find a quality alternative. Joe Gomez struggles with persistent injuries and another central defender is ideal.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will be able to make the deal.
The 24-year-old is the final year of his contract, and Crystal Palace is under pressure to sell him. They wouldn’t want to lose him next year on a free transfer. It makes sense for London outfits to sell Guehi for a reasonable amount this summer.
Can Liverpool convince Crystal Palace?
However, Crystal Palace has postponed the captain at a fee of around £50 million, and Liverpool has no plans to pay such money to the players who are in the final 12 months of the contract. Therefore, they are exploring cash transactions with players.
Doak has no future in Liverpool. It was loaned out at Middlesbrough last season. He must play regularly at this stage of his career, ideally leaving Liverpool. A move to Crystal Palace might be ideal for him if it could provide him with ample opportunities. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can resolve transactions that benefit both of them.
