According to Spanish sources, Liverpool is preparing to launch an official offer for coveted playmaker Xavi Simons. Strangely enough, the Netherlands International paints his art in RB Leipzig.

The bid in question is said to be worth around 80 million euros (£67 million). This would make the 21-year-old Simons more than Szoboszlai, one of the most expensive players in Liverpool’s history.

Manchester United are also keen to add petite dynamos to the ranks, but the Reds have taken a lead in the race and now they have to act with confidence to strengthen their team.

What Zabi Simons brings to Liverpool

Aside from bolstering Dutch Singhe into Liverpool’s setup, Simons is a silky, stylish offensive midfielder who has over the past few years pronounced performance by analyst Ben Matinson to become “one of the best in the world.”

Already like a nomadic in football, Simons joined Leipzig forever from PSG in January, first taking on loan ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The results are certainly promising. The 68 appearances provide a healthy operation of 31 goals of involvement, with the ability for the Dutch native to play beyond the offensive position.

Despite being shuffled about the frontline, Simons’ trick to maintaining a stable production rate becomes a compelling case of him being a good fit for a role in the slot team.

After all, he has a host of creative qualities that suggest that he can surpass Szoboszlai in front of goal. According to FBREF, Simons is ranked in the top 12% of midfielders and wingers who have attacked over the top five leagues of Europe over the past year, top 9% of attempted passes, progressive passes and top 17% of shot-making actions per 90.

It’s not bad at all. It will certainly strengthen Liverpool’s transitional play, drive the ball forward and create an opening for the forward to east feast.

Now, the caveat to this is that Szoboszlai posted a higher count when playing for Leipzig, and a jump to Premier League football could knock down Simons’ tally.

However, this data to be considered is not a strictly adherent rulebook.

Simons poses a more natural target threat than Liverpool’s Hungarian engine. He certainly focuses on his sparkling playmaking, and his eyes do an eagle tuning.

The Sofa Score also records some interesting data to support the praise surrounding his name. Simons scored seven Bundesliga goals this season, but distorted two major opportunities. This is a promising level of clinical output, especially considering he averages 2.3 key passes, 1.3 dribbling and 5.3 successful duels.

This is a lot of players. Szoboszlai boasts similar qualities, but he has less accurate shooting and less productive on most other metrics. The Hungarian skipper missed seven big chances in the Premier League and scored five goals. He also averages 1.5 key passes, 0.7 dribbling and 3.1 duels per game.

Ultimately, both stars could have a significant impact on slot teams over the next few years. There are two spaces.

Liverpool will need extra injections of depth into different regions this summer, and once Simons signed, it may be enough to prevent another spring drop-off for Liverpool sides to chase silverware on multiple fronts.
