This summer, the latest on Liverpool’s hunting for new attackersWhy Liverpool’s latest target could be Sara 2.0Slot’s Next Mac Allister: Liverpool pursues “silly” £60m ace move

Liverpool’s need for strikers this summer is visible to everyone. The Reds have already plotted their moves in such divisions before the summer transfer period.

Arne Slot’s side may have won the Premier League title in 2024/25, but improvements are still being made, especially if players leave Anfield during the offseason.

Current centre-forward options Darwin Nunez and Dio Gojota have linked their move away from Merseyside this summer, with managers having to invest their money in pair upgrades.

It is unclear how much the hierarchy will require a breakup with the current Talisman, but given the combined tally of just 11 goals from the league, it is unlikely that they will get in the way if an acceptable offer is presented.

If such an event occurs, it will be up to the staff behind the scenes to identify potential slot options.

This summer, the latest on Liverpool’s hunting for new attackers

Despite the windows not yet open, countless players are linked to the switch to Liverpool ahead of 26/2025.

Some of the likes of Viktor Gyoker, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitiké are the main three mentioned, but there has been no progress yet on potential deals.

However, the same cannot be said about another target in the form of Julian Alvarez. That’s when recent news broke by Argentine journalist Mattias Palacios is believed.

He claims that for the coming months, the Reds are eager to Atletico Madrid’s talisman move and are eager to face-to-face meetings for his signature set, which will begin next week.

Palacios also confirms that Bayern Munich and Arsenal are interested in signing the former Manchester City talent who registered an astounding 35 goals and assists on 53 outings in 2024/25.

Unfortunately, it may take a fair amount to praise him from the Spanish capital at the CIES Football Observatory, which suggests that Argentina is worth £105 million.

Why Liverpool’s latest target could be Sara 2.0

Mohamed Salah has been an incredible servant of the Liverpool Football Club for the past eight years, extending his stint at Merseyside to 10 years after his latest contract extension.

For players who certainly solidified themselves in the history of the club, the Egyptians registered 244 goals and 113 assists in 400 appearances at Anfield.

He is set to add a fourth to his list after winning three Golden Boots Awards in the Premier League and notching an incredible 28 goals on 37 outings this season.

His £34 million move from Rome in the summer of 2017 will be remembered forever.

However, the board has the opportunity to replicate such a deal with Alvarez in the coming months, and could follow in his footsteps at Merseyside.

Both pairs have a similar pattern to their carriers. Both feature other aspects on top flights in the UK before departing to go elsewhere in Europe to promote their respective profiles.

Sara, who didn’t cut it at Chelsea, made her name in Italy before joining the Reds, similarly how Alvarez developed after trading Manchester City for Atletico Madrid.

The pair are now elite offensive talents, and the Argentine forward has a season to remember, producing countless statistics that bolster slot attacks.

Labeled “sensational” by Terry Fries, Alvarez has registered 1.4 shots on targets per 90, and the per minute ratio at Lariga highlights his clinical edge in the final third.

However, he was also able to create opportunities for teammates, completing 57% of the dribble he attempted, creating a chance of 1.5 per 90.

If the former city talent is near the level produced by Egyptians over the years, it is a phenomenal business and adds a new dimension to the attacks of slots.

The outlook for the pair featured together on the frontline is certainly frightening, and such partnerships strengthen the possibility of maintaining the crown in 2025/26.
