Liverpool’s interest in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac is well documented.
The Swedish international striker is the dream target of the Premier League champions, who are about to replace Darwin Nunes this summer.
Isaac’s score against Liverpool in this year’s Carabao Cup final must have further elevated his position in the eyes of Liverpool’s hierarchy.
In addition to the Reds, Arsenal was also interested in the Newcastle star move, but their focus shifted to sports striker Victor Gyoker, a more attainable and affordable option.
Liverpool wants Newcastle United striker Alexander Isaac
Liverpool has already spent a huge amount on new signatures, but are now looking for a striker to replace Nunes.
Despite his interest in Isaac, journalist David Ornstein claims that the attackers are not for sale and that the doors to sign him have been closed.
“The sale of Alexander Isaac is not on Newcastle’s agenda. They hope to remain with him.” Ornstein spoke to Sky Sports Back Pages today on the podcast.
“They want him to renew his contract and I am sure so many clubs like to sign him.
“I know Arsenal’s previous interest, Liverpool. If the door is open, they’ll try to give it a try. But Newcastle isn’t going to open the door.
“Tell me about some sort of £150 million, so let’s see what he wants to do.
“But for now, he’s definitely there to stay.”
Hugo Ekitike is a more achievable target
Liverpool may need to focus on other achievable targets, such as Eintrohat Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.
They were also linked to Victor Osimhen this summer, but Ekitique is a high-ranking person on their agenda.
Fabrizio Romano reported on his interest in Ekitike, claiming that the move could be “potential.”
