Liverpool has certainly made use of the extra time before the start of the 2020/21 season, which was delayed due to the pandemic, by signing Diogo Jota on a five-year deal from the wolves.
Jota continued to become a fan favorite at Anfield, but died tragically in 2025 at the age of 28 after a road traffic accident. He is always known as Liverpool’s No. 20.

Fabinho praised the exceptional infrastructure that lined up in Liverpool when he arrived at the club in May 2018, but it was him who ultimately became a much needed spine for his side.
His previous Brazilian midfielder, who has competed over 150 times in Side Monaco, was sought after for his ability to play anywhere in the middle of the park.
On his way to Emre Can as a free agent signing to Juventus, Fabigno was considered the perfect replacement for Klopp’s part.

Naby Keita surpassed Andy Carroll’s 2011 £35 million record when Liverpool agreed to trigger a midfielder release clause at RB Leipzig in August 2017, securing his transition to the club the following season.
It was mainly a two-story story for Keita of Liverpool. The beginning started with promises, possibilities and hopes. The second ended with injuries, contradictions and ultimately his inevitable release.

When it was announced that James Milner, Keita and Alex Oclade Chamberlen were all leaving the club, Klopp knew they would have to spend cash on a brand new midfield in the summer of 2023.
Liverpool told RB Leipzig that it would launch a £60 million release clause for Dominique Schbosilai, shortly after completing the signature of Alexis MacAlistair from Brighton for £35 million.
The Hungarian captain beat DFB Pokal in Leipzig and secured a strong third place finish in the Bundesliga, but his impressive performance on the international stage as Liverpool’s eye-catching Hungarian captain.

Darwin Nunes signed his first £64 million from Benfica in 2022 and started out very well with the Reds.
However, they never actually clicked on Anfield’s Uruguay gear. He was sold in 2025 to Saudiian professional league club Al Hilal.

Allison became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper in the summer of 2018 when he signed Liverpool from Rome on a six-year contract.
The deal surpassed Man City’s £35 million Ederson’s signature in 2017, and proved to be a pivotal turning point during Klopp’s tenure at the club.
Merseyside Club officials did not reveal the actual fees, but his previous club, Rome, said the deal was worth up to £67 million.
However, this didn’t last long as the record was intended to break, as Chelsea signed Kepa Alizabaraga from Athletic Bilbao for £71 million a few weeks later.

Hugo Ekitike was one of two star strikers to sign Liverpool in 2025, and the Reds paid the forwards the first £609 million, as they repeatedly sought Nunez in Frankfurt.
Like Nunes, the Frenchman made an immediate impression by scoring in his debut at Community Shield, but Ekitique also scored his first goal of the 2025/26 Premier League season.

The announcement that Van Dijk will join Liverpool at the turn of the 2018 New Year was a world record deal for the defenders at the time. It’s worth every penny since Harry Maguire’s move to Man United in 2019 (£80 million) and registered for Joscogvaldrior in 2023 (£77 million).
