Bayern Munich reportedly appears to miss the signatures of Athletic Bilbao and Spanish leftist Nico Williams.
Among them is Cody Gakupo, obviously the star of Liverpool. This can be a big concern for the Reds.
Gakpo is a key player for Liverpool, finishing with 18 goals and six assists in all competitions on the side of Arne Slot, who won the Premier League title last season.
According to Florian Plettenberg, it’s no wonder Bayern considers the Netherlands International another option that appears to be about to lose to Williams…
Cody Glider to Bayern Munich?
Posting on X, Plettenberg said:As revealed yesterday, Joan Laporta is about to finalise NICO’s deal #Williams. Important to Williams’ desire to join Barcelona: Talk with Hansifrik and Ramin #yamal He has made internal statements on several occasions that he wants to play with Williams. Also in the context of his own contract extension. Max Eberl is well-informed and remains on standby in case Barca can’t afford to buy a deal financially.
“At the same time, Bayern is in contact with other targets: Barcola (Lewis Campos is very keen to keep him), Mitoma, Leo, Gakupo.”
Below is how Gakpo compares to some of the other names mentioned…
Liverpool should maintain Cody Gakupo
It’s certainly easy for the LFC to try and hold a gagpo this summer, amid interest from Bayern.
The 26-year-old has been on track since joining from PSV Eindhoven, and slots are certainly going to try and keep this team as many as possible.
With Trent Alexander Arnold already leaving Anfield, it would certainly be wise to avoid more upheavals by losing someone like Gakupo and having to find a replacement.
