Charging at raw pace, Lizard Williams delivered a deadly length ball, but as Farhan attempted a flashy cut, the ball slipped through and crashed into the off-and-middle stumps. The Pakistan batsman, who had confidently hit four boundaries in 24 off 19 balls, was stunned when the stumps went flying.

Meanwhile, South Africa’s second-order team, missing seven key players due to rest and injuries, registered a stunning 55-run victory over Pakistan to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. The Proteas got off to a blistering start, led by Leeza Hendricks’ 40-ball 60, posting 194 for nine.
This opener gave the team momentum from the start as they scored 74 runs in the power play, scoring 23 runs in just 13 balls between Hendricks and Quinton de Kock, giving them a 44-run lead. Debutant Toni De Sorge scored a 16-ball 33 while Mohammad Nawaz disrupted the match with 3 hits for 26.

George Linde had fireworks in the second half, firing 36 off 22 pitches. Pakistan’s chase never found its rhythm and South African pacer Corbin Bosch had a dreamlike performance of 4 hits for 14, but Linde backed him up with 3 hits for 31 and Pakistan were bowled out for 139 in 18.1 overs.
Opener Saim Ayub made 28-37 with four sixes and Nawaz quickly added 20-36. Babar Azam fell for a duck while Lizard Williams returned with two wickets in the first T20I on Tuesday.

Pakistan’s players wore pink kits to raise breast cancer awareness, while South Africa’s players wore pink ribbons in a touching gesture.
With this win, South Africa took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Pakistan. The second and final T20I will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on October 31 and November 1.
