Rome defender Evan Ndica has linked his move away from the Italian club during the summer transfer.
According to a report from Laroma24, Arsenal and Newcastle United have been inquiring with central defenders, and it remains to be seen whether they have decided to move forward with an offer to sign him.
The Iborian has established himself as one of the best defenders in Italian football, and he was an essential asset to Rome. He started 38 league games for them last season and played every minute in Serie A matches.
Sources close to the players’ aides have confirmed that they have not ruled out moves to the Premier League this summer. It certainly serves as an encouragement for Arsenal and Newcastle and others.
Manchester United and Tottenham are also keeping an eye on him.
Arsenal needs defensive depth
Arsenal will be able to use deeper depths with teams next season. They win league titles and will also do well in the Champions League. They need high quality players freely. Ndicka allows Mikel Arteta to rotate key players such as William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes. By increasing the depth of the sides, Arsenal can spin players and keep the team fresh and injured.
Meanwhile, the Roman defender could be drawn to the idea of joining one of the world’s biggest clubs. Arsenal has a scary team and exciting projects. They are likely to consistently push major trophies, and every player will want to be a part of it.
Newcastle can use Evan Ndica
Similarly, Newcastle has an exciting project, securing qualifying for the Champions League next season. They looked vulnerable at back last season, and Ndicka was able to help them improve. He was able to form a strong partnership with Sven Botman.
