Logan Paul was hoping to become part of the UFC’s historic 300th pay-per-view show.
WWE star Paul revealed that he asked Dana White if he could become part of the UFC 300 last April, but the UFC CEO didn’t respond to his text. Unlike Paul’s brother Jake, Logan has a good relationship with White.
Paul wrestled in high school and college and thinks he could do well in the octagon. In 2020, Paul sparred Paulo Costa, former title challenger at the UFC Performance Institute, and appeared to hold himself in grappling.
“I told Dana to UFC 300, I texted him. “Basically, I completely ignored me. I think it spoke volume. I haven’t bothered him ever since. I have the right amount of money for the right fight (I’ll do it). Man, I’m a celebrity at the end of the day.”
It was not the first time a WWE star had competed in the UFC. CM Punk decided to move to MMA and made its Octagon debut in 2016 at UFC 203. He was soon submitted to Mickey Gall and lost his second appearance to Mike Jackson in 2018 due to a unanimous decision at UFC 225.
Paul insists he would have done better than Punk.
“He found it,” Paul said of the punk. “He found it, and then Dana was like, ‘I’m never doing this again.’ But I’m not a commercial punk.
“I think I’ve found a way. I’m a WWE superstar now. That’s one of the only things I’ve done in my life. I don’t know if I want to leave it at this point and give my time to something like a side quest.”
