Trade rumors surrounding Giannis Antetocomo continue to intensify, with the Dallas Mavericks consistently emerging as the best potential destination.
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzoball has become the latest voice to advocate for this blockbuster move, believing Dallas and Giannis will create the perfect championship pairing.
Ball believes the Mavericks should be proactive in pursuing Greek freaks and proposes offering a possibly number one draft pick cooper flag as the center of a potential deal.
“If I’m in Dallas, I’m the first to call Milwaukee. I’m calling.
The reason behind the ball’s support is concentrated in Dallas’ current roster construction. With players like Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis already in place, adding Giannis creates an instant super team.
“Advertisement and Kylie’s Giannis… Kylie will be back late, but hopefully we can hold it down,” Ball added, acknowledging Irving’s current injury status, but highlighting the trio’s potential for a championship.
From a Bucks perspective, Ball sees great value in acquiring Flag as a cornerstone for future franchises. He believes Milwaukee needs a new start to build a new star.
“Even Cooper Flag gets there, he certainly helps. I don’t think he’ll be a nerd like Giannis, but it’s a great way to get started. But I’m the first to make that call,” Ball explained.
Security guards highlighted the various timelines run by each team. “Milwaukee needs a new star, the Cooper Flag.
This perspective highlights the favourable nature of such a deal, with Dallas winning the missing championship piece and Milwaukee securing the future with generational talent.
However, running this transaction brings a critical salary cap challenge for Dallas. Giannis Antetokounmpo will have a massive salary of $54.1 million next season, with the Mavericks having to move a considerable deal.
To keep the money working while keeping Irving and Davis alive, Dallas will need to package multiple players, including Clay Thompson ($16.6 million), Daniel Gafford ($14.3 million), Caleb Martin ($9.5 million), Max Christie ($7.7 million), and Jaden Hardy ($6 million).
Such a movement completely obstructs the depth of Dallas and eliminates the flexibility to add complementary pieces around the new Big 3. The Mavericks are basically betting everything on star power rather than roster balance.
