Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is tied to a move away from the club at the end of the season, and Atletico Madrid is keen to sign him.
According to Fitches, Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is interested in signing the 25-year-old Uruguay International, with player agent Jorge Mendes currently working to find a new club for him.
It will be interesting to see if Atletico Madrid can agree with Liverpool for South America. They need to add more quality and depth to their attacking units, and Nunes could be a quality addition. He was considered one of the best strikers in the world during his time at Benfica. However, the transition to the Premier League has not gone well for him. The final third decision left much to be desired, and his finishing touched up as well.
Darwinnes needs a new start too
It makes sense for Liverpool to cash out players and bring an upgrade in the summer. The striker has only seven goals in all competitions this season. Liverpool needs a reliable centre in the summer, and selling Nunes will bring you money to sign quality players.
Liverpool hopes to recover around 4,000-45 million euros for the players. They cannot retrieve the money they paid for him and have to accept a huge loss to the player. It will be interesting to see if the Spanish outfit is ready to pay.
The 25-year-old striker has the technical attribute to play for the world’s biggest club, but he needs to improve his decision-making. Perhaps joining a new club will give him a fresh start. He was also able to play under world-class managers like Diego Simeone.
