Outfielder Estery Lewis has a locker at the Los Angeles clubhouse on Wednesday, hinting at a potentially unfortunate roster move.

Tommy Edman has been out of the lineup for the second time in a row. It is also worth noting that Hyeseong Kim is not in the lineup against right-handed pitchers.
Lewis is a speedy outfielder, having only two seasons since stealing 67 bases, leading the American League in 2023 as a member of Auckland Athletics.
In addition to the swipes, Lewis hit .254 that season, adding five home runs and 47 RBIs. He also garnered rankings that surpassed the average rankings twice during that 2023 season, placing him in the 78th percentile of MLB.
Lewis struggled during the 2024 season. He chose Triple A to start April and offered a stint on the injured list at the end of May, leaving him out of the big leagues for the remainder of the season. He hit .200 during these 29 MLB appearances.
After appearing on the Triple A team in athletics, Lewis was assigned to his assignment on March 30th of this year. The immediately acquired the outfielder on April 2nd in exchange for right-handed Carlos Duran.
During his 45 outings this year at Triple A Oklahoma City, Lewis has hit .274 with 27 stolen bases, 30 RBIs and three home runs.
Lewis can become an asset in his defense and speed. Especially in the outfield, the are relatively weak in terms of depth.
In his final full season of 2023, Lewis ranked in the 97th percentile of sprint speeds among active players, and was the 95th percentile of base running run value, a statistic that combines stolen bases with extra bases.
