Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) launches campaign at IPL 2025 Delhi Capitals (DC). The game is scheduled to take place on Monday (March 24th) at Dr. YS Rajasehara Ladyaka-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
The Lucknow Super Giants are beginning a new journey this season. After being led by KL Rahul in the first three seasons, the Lucknow-based outfit has a new captain from IPL 2025.
Lucknow’s Super Giants will make Pants the finest player of all time at the final auction, hoping he will lead them to their first title. After playing in the playoffs in the first two seasons, LSG missed out on a top four finish last season.
They are looking to start a new season with victory. And ahead of their game against DC, we see LSG playing 11.
LSG Play 11 vs Delhi Capitals – IPL 2025, Match 4:
Opener: Arshin Kulkarni, Mitchell Marsh
Arshin Kulkarni and Mitchell Marsh are expected to be two openers for the Rucknow Super Giants 11. Aiden Markram is also an excellent opening option, but LSG rarely includes him until the Indian fast bowler has fully recovered from his injury.
Kulkarni played two games last season for the Lucknow Super Giants, but was unable to deliver with bats. However, he was impressed by the domestic circuit and was the main landlord of Maharashtra in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024.
Marsh is more experienced and is responsible for him to ensure that Lucknow’s Super Giants get off to a good start. Australia’s Allrounder is set to play as a batter this season due to back issues and is aiming to deliver by bat.
Intermediate batters and all-arounds: Rishabhpants (C, WK), Nicholas Folan, Ayush Badoni, David Miller, Abdul Samad, Shabaz Ahmed
Rishabh Pant will begin a new journey with IPL this year. After playing for the Delhi Capitals since his IPL debut in 2016, Pant is set to play for another team for the first time. He also has an additional responsibility to lead the team.
Pants have recently fallen in the order of India’s limited over-team order, with points to prove this season. He was DC’s best runcoat last season and is now trying to lead the Lucknow Super Giants head on.
Nicholas Forlan will undoubtedly be the most important batsman in LSG, playing for 11. The West Indies star could blow any team out of his day, and the Lucknow Super Giants hope he will deliver for them consistently this season.
Ayush Badoni will become another important player playing Rucknow Super Giants 11. Right-handed batters have the ability to lock innings and play big shots when situations are requested. He has played 42 IPL games so far, scoring 634 runs at over 130 strike rates, including the 50s.
David Miller and Abdul Samad will become the other pinch hitters for LSG. Play 11. Miller has ample experience playing in the IPL, and LSG hopes South African veterans can meet their expectations. When the Gujarat Titans won the title in 2022, he plays a major role and aims to have a similar impact on LSG.
Shahbaz Ahmed is set to become one of the main all-rounders of Rucknow Super Jiants 11. He was impressed by the bat while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and is about to deliver it again.
Bowlers: Rajvardhan Hungargekar, Ravi Bishnoi, Shamar Joseph
Without some key bowlers, bowling can be a weak link in LSG. Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, Akash Deep, and others have all recovered from injuries.
Rajvardhan Hungargekar and Shamar Joseph are set to lead the spin attack with Ravi Bishnoi.
