Luis Palomino is losing money, but there is no doubt in his mind that he is still a goat.
How does Palomino (9-1) arrive at this conclusion when he evaluates his place in a book on bare knuckle boxing history? Well, you don’t need to look any further than statistics.
“The numbers just don’t lie. “I am the only eight-time world champion in BKFC history and the only champion to have made his title six times.
Palomino, now 44, jumped early on the bare knuckle boxing bandwagon. He made his debut at BKFC 10 in February 2020 and was one of the first MMA celebrities in the sport to make a leap.
He won his first nine bare knuckle boxing fights and captured BKFC Gold at both 155 and 165 pounds. He vacated the 155-pound title and then lost the 165-pound title of former WBA champion Austin Trout.
Palomino doesn’t like the unfamiliar feeling of not holding money. A rematch was offered to him, but the maths were not summed.
“To be honest and cruelly clear, I had to vacate the 155-pound title I defended six times,” Palomino said. “I had to win the 155 pound title to defend the 155 pound title and then I had to win the 155 pound to defend the 155, so I’m going well there.
“They were offering it to me, and ever since, I have been waiting for that rematch, and the title has been back to 155.
Palomino will return on March 27th at the BKFC Fight Night event in Holly Ward, Florida. He sees the match as a potential title eliminator, and hopes that it will propel him on the way to hold the money again.
“(Davis) just lost to the top level,” Palomino said. “From what I saw, he is the king of 155 pounds, so if I can’t take away the title, then I can do the best thing to me.
