The much-anticipated Lukadon Chic expansion is now official as the Slovenians agreed to a three-year $165 million deal.
Purple and Gold have had a major offseason with three additions to the roster, but there’s been much talk about Luka Donsic’s contract extension.
Donsic was traded for La Lakers in the blockbuster trade that saw Anthony Davis move to the Dallas Mavericks.
He was impressed with his performance during the regular season, but the playoffs showed Don Sic lacked conditioning to play the entire NBA campaign.
The Slovenian has been working hard on himself throughout the offseason, even doing things he hasn’t done early in his career.
Donsic is due to be an extension, and although initially there was doubt if he signed it immediately, the player put the pen on paper to dispel doubts from the Laker nation.
The 26-year-old was drafted by the Mavericks in 2018, but he was a professional in Europe, even before that.
Since joining the NBA, Doncic has risen to global superstarm.
He decided to take a big step by making a big donation after signing the $165 million extension and return it to the community.
The Lakers player tweeted: “Today, I am committed to $5 million to help 77 young athletes around the world pursue their dreams. Basketball has given me everything.
It’s only six months since Don Sic moved to the Lakers, and although it was tough for him to take first, players have loved being part of the franchise to date.
He thanked the Bass family for his contributions to the team and welcomed new owner Mark Walters when it was announced that he would take over the team’s majority interests.
Donsic also played a key role in recruiting Marcus Smart into his team by talking to him personally before his move.

His contract has the player option in the final year, which will allow him to sign a massive five-year, $417 million extension.
LeBron James has been the Lakers face since moving to LA in 2018, but he doesn’t have many years left.
The team was sure that Don Chic would make the team’s next man, but it is clear that his extension had begun the transition to the Luka era.
