Luka Donsic had one of the best games for the La Lakers when he returned to Dallas.
After an emotional tribute video, Luka Donsic faced off his former team, Dallas Mavericks, dropping 45 points with 57% shooting from the field.
The NBA world continued to criticize Nico Harrison for trade, but Donsic confirmed that he did his part for the La Lakers and led him to a comfortable 112-97 victory at the night.
The Lakers are currently the third seed in the West, and are good at finishing the regular season right in the playoffs.
They’ve looked very well since the deal, but many believe that the Lakers could be a difficult aspect to beat in the playoffs.
Donsic has proven his abilities in the postseason every time he is there in his career.
He has the second-best score average in the playoffs, behind the great Michael Jordan.
NBA insider Tim Bontemps has pointed out that Donsic’s presence is one of the reasons why the Lakers are dangerous in the playoffs.
Speaking about the “The Hoop Collective” podcast, Bontemps said: “I saw yesterday why this deal (Luka-Ad) was so crazy. Luka Donsic’s all-basketball life won Slovenia and Eurobasket. A massive situation.”
Donsic’s return to Dallas was one of the most anticipated games in the NBA since the All-Star break.
Not only was it his first time playing against the Mavericks in Dallas, it was also Antony Davis’ first game against his previous Side Lakers.
Doncic lost an unstoppable 45 points performance, while the ads managed only 13 points.
Bontemps said Ad’s performance against the Lakers proved to the world how good the trade is for them.
“This whole game and how this worked, yes the ads are hurt, yes, Kylie is hurt, yes, Mavs is not the team they want. This game reflected in every way for 48 minutes why this deal was so ridiculous from the start and was given an entirely new lease to the Lakers,” Bontemps said.
The Lakers are currently the third seed, with the Mavs sitting in 10th and have to compete in the play-in contest to make the playoffs.
The Lakers weren’t in this comfortable position before the deal, but adding Don Sic along with LeBron James and Austin Reeves was a game-changer.
He adjusted to the team, and AR and James played well for Don Sic, both great passersby.
The playoffs bring the best from the Slovenians, and it would be interesting to see how he gets fair this time, especially since he’s with the Lakers, he has all his eyes on him.
