Luka Doncic revealed his expectations for the LA Lakers after another dominant victory for the team.
Purple and Gold were against the talented Houston Rockets side, but they didn’t stop them from making a statement as they scored a dominant 140-109 victory to win the Western third seed.
Luka Doncic scored 39 points on 68.4% shooting from the field, while Austin Reaves added 23 points.
It was a full team performance from the La Lakers from the start, as it wreaked havoc and caused problems for one of the NBA’s best defensive teams.
This is the first time the Lakers have won 50 wins since their championship victory in the bubble, and it’s fair to draw a comparison between the two.
Donsic said the team is a title contender, but it takes collective effort to win, not just him and LeBron James, who has a stellar season.
The deal that brought Don Sic to the Lakers will always be spoken of as one of the most game-changing moves in league history.
The Lakers looked good before the trade, but never threatened to be dangerous, but brought Don Sic and they suddenly look like favorites to win it all.
Speaking about what it takes to win it all, Donsic said, “It would be hard to stop us (Donsic and LeBron), but it’s not just me and LeBron, but we have a great team around us, everyone helps us.
“It’s (the championship) has become our only goal, and that’s our only goal. I think we have a team that does that. When everyone is locked up, we are our goal.”
Don Sic loved his life as a laker and gave some great performances for purple and gold.
His performance in the last two games helped only the late Kobe Bryant, whom he had done before, achieve the feat.
With the playoffs approaching, this is exactly the kind of way the Lakers hope to join Don Sic.
He fitted well in life alongside James and Reeves.
Doncic has already made appearances in the NBA Finals and will be performing his best show in the postseason. His stats show this as he is second only to Michael Jordan in terms of career average in the playoffs.
But playing as a laker in the postseason adds pressure, as all the eyeballs appear in Donsic.
His move to the Lakers led to many calling for Mavs’ general manager, Nico Harrison.
The big postseason was able to help Harrison proved Harrison wrong as the reason for the trade he wanted to win now and thought trading five All-NBA players was the right move.
But his failure with the Lakers could give Harrison a lot of needed breathing space as many have been seeking his firing since trade.
