In his first two playoff games with the Lakers, Luka Donsic made history with some great performances.
Luka Donsic helped the Los Angeles Lakers get a crucial Game 2 victory with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Again, he was the best player in purple and gold.
Matt Burns pointed out that the Lakers gave up too many fast points in Game 1. Well, the Lakers were clinical, so tonight was a different story.
Things weren’t easy as the Timberwolves cut their 22-point lead to single digits in the fourth quarter.
However, Luka Doncic has made some big plays. And in doing so, they created Lakers history, which was not seen in 28 years.

Tonight, Luka Doncic scored 31 points against the Timberwolves. This marks the second consecutive 30 or more games in the playoffs with the Lakers as he scored 37 in Game 1.
In fact, in his performance tonight, Donsic coincided with Shaquille O’Neill’s last record. He is third behind Shaq and George Mikan, earning over 30 points in the first two Lakers playoff games.

Given Mikan and, more importantly, what Shack achieved with the Lakers, fans see this as a very good foreshadowing of his future with the team.
However, while Luka’s 30-point performance is fantastic, the fans are happy with his outing tonight as it led to a victory.

Don’t get it wrong about that, Luka Donsic was the Lakers’ best player in these first two games. In fact, Doncic matched another Lakers record in Game 1 despite his losses.
The Lakers need Luka to continue performing at this high level if they want to advance to the second round.
Doncic currently averages 34 points per game in the series. If he continues his scoring exploit, the Lakers will earn a great deal.
If anything, the remaining Lakers will need to step up and match Donsic’s production levels to head for the next few games.
