Slovenia may have struggled, but Luka Donsic has individual control over Eurobasket 2025.

After four matches, Luka Donsic is leading the scoring leaderboard with 31.3 points per game, playing a historic triple double against Belgium with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Even the Icelandic coach was surprised when Donsic scored only 26 points against the team. He said the Los Angeles Lakers star could have easily reached 50 points.

However, one of the key issues surrounding Doncic’s Eurobasket performance could be related to Lakers fans.

After four games, Doncic struggled significantly on a 3-point shot, averaging only 27.5%.

Each game, he converts 2.8 of the 10 attempts, creating legitimate concerns about his shooting mechanics.

The struggle becomes more surprising given Doncic is shooting on the shorter Fiba three-point line compared to the NBA.

These conditions should theoretically support improved shooting rates rather than lower carrier numbers.

Doncic has never filmed below 30% beyond the ARC throughout his NBA career. Last season, he shot 37.9% from the deep, averaging 3.6 three out of 9.6 attempts.

That percentage only tracked the 2023-24 season when he and the Mavericks reached the NBA Finals, ranking them as the second-best of his career.

His worst previous shooting rate was 31.6% from the 3-point range in his sophomore year, but still significantly outperformed the current production of the Eurobasket.

Lakers relies heavily on his three-point production, so Doncic needs to address this filming issue.

Last season, he led the team with a maid’s three-pointer and was primarily responsible for floor spacing.

Beyond Doncic, only Rui Hachimura shot better at 3 points per cent among regular contributors.

Dorian Finney Smith provided additional shooting, but the forward will play with the Houston Rockets next season.

Finney-Smith’s departure focuses more on Doncic’s three-point consistency.

Lakers fans hope that his Eurobasket struggle will represent a temporary mechanic issue rather than resigning to shooting ability heading into the important season.
