Luka Doncic’s season roller coaster ended when the La Lakers lost their first round series with the Minnesota Timber Wolves.
The Slovenians scored more than 30 points in three of the five games in the first round, but were not enough to save the LA Lakers.
The 26-year-old has been traded for the Lakers midseason, a move coordinated by Nico Harrison, who was criticised for his comments at a press conference.
Doncic has a contract that can be extended in the offseason, with LeBron James making interesting comments about the role players will sign new deals, but the five-time All-Star is expected to remain in purple and gold.
Many have expressed their views on what Donsic saw in the series against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and some have also questioned the works he has included.
However, his former teammates closed those claims and shared what they felt they were watching Luka Donchic’s training.
Pinson shared the locker room with Don Sic for two years as a member of the Dallas Mavericks.
The 29-year-old confirmed that he had never attended a separate session with the security guard, but the training from Donsic saw one training that made him seductive.
Pingson said: “Luca is the best point guard in the league,” he responded to the argument that also raised Jalen Branson’s qualification.
“It might have been the best I’ve ever seen when he got hurt, he’s back and I’m not exaggerating.
“I don’t think _______ missed a shot.”
He also praised Donsic’s game, saying that the Slovenians have made others better around him.
“No one is more talented than Luka. I will be totally honest with you.
“Aggressively, he can make others better, you can see what I’m saying.
“I think that’s what makes him better. I need that because of the point guard,” Pinson added.
Doncic is one of the most incredible offensive players in the game, and he has proven that many times since he entered the league.
He averages over 30 points in the postseason and has registered incredible stats in the regular season, but it’s his defensive game that needs to be improved.
In the series against the Timberwolves, the Lakers lacked defensive solidity, and one of the weaker links in that division was Doncic.
His defensive frailty in the playoffs was also called in last year’s NBA Finals.
Harrison, who traded Don Sic for the Lakers, explained why he decided to trade superstars at a press conference after the move.
He is one of the best offensive players, but Donsic doesn’t have a defensive IQ. It’s a vital skill in the playoffs.
The 26-year-old plays basketball with the Slovenian national team during the offseason.
He works on the defensive side of the game and is looking to return next season as a more dangerous player than ever before.
