Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has picked out his new signature Senne Lanmen as a player who has already caught his eye during his training session at Carrington.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Shaw praised the Belgian goalkeeper.
“As a player, it’s really important to help us settle for new players. He was really good. He’s been trained for a few days. He looks really sharp. I was really impressed with him. Shaw said.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper was signed at a rate in the £18 million region after an impressive season in Belgium.
United conceded 54 goals in the Premier League last season. This was the highest jointly among the top half of the table, and improving defensive solidity under manager Ruben Amorim was a priority.
The Lammens signature is seen as an important step in adding competition and raising standards.
Lammens is a backup option for Man United
The show praises Belgian sharpness in training, but Runmen is not expected to be an immediate starter. Amorim is likely to gradually integrate him, with Bayındır currently taking on the first choice role.
Sources around the club suggest that Runmen can be eased to the sides through cup equipment and low pressure league matches before being considered for greater opportunities.
Much depends on how quickly Lammens adapts to British football. His talent and shot stop ability are clear, but his strength in the Premier League is a different ball game.
The general support of the show shows that early signs are positive, but true tests occur when the Lammen is given competitive minutes.
