UFC veteran Jose Torres will face Hiromasa Ugikyubo in the opening round of the Lysine Flyweight Grand Prix on July 27, the promotion announced Thursday.

The 125 pound tournament draw was streamed live from Japan and announced five matches that will be featured on the Japanese seasonal Super Lysine 4 cards later this month.

Torres (13-4-1) defeated Makoto Shinryu in his Lysine debut late last year, but Ougikubo (27-8-2) looked for another tournament championship after dominating the Lysine Bantamweight Grand Prix, which won Nakishima and Asamamaru in 2021.

Alibek Gadzhammatov (5-0) is on Roll after knocking out Kitakata with his promotional debut last November.

Nkazimulo Zulu (16-7-1), who challenged Horiguchi for the Lysinbelt in 2024, meets Ito Yuki (18-6) to advance in the tournament. Fellow former title candidate Makoto Shinryu (19-4-1, no contest) faces Arson Yamamoto (5-7).

In the fifth match announced at the Grand Prix, Yuki Motoya (37-13) will face Hiroya (11-13-1). Motoya is one of the most experienced fighters on the field, and is a contestant for Lyzin of over 20, with Hiroya hoping for victory for the third consecutive time.

Lysin also revealed the second round of the heavyweight Grand Prix, where former Bellator fighter Jose Augusto faces Marek Samosiuk, but Mikio Ueda fights Dana WhiteCandidate Series for Veteran Alexander Soldatkin.

Super Lysine 4 will be held at Sakura Super Arena with former champion CleverCoke rematching Shallowland Mikul in the main event. Razhabali Shaidulloev was expected to defend his featherweight title with the cards, but the promotion “didn’t allow him to secure his opponent in time for the title match.”
