Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana was dropped by the Man United team to face Newcastle.
This comes after his horrifying performance against Lyon mid-week when he was responsible for both goals United confirmed in a 2-2 draw in the Europa League.
The first goal was recognized from an unnecessary free kick given by Noussair Mazraoui. Armada stepped up and took the set piece, floating above everyone, whipped on a delivery surrounded by the back of the net, catching Onana completely from the guard.
The Cameroon goalkeeper misjudged the ball’s flight and was able to bounce it back into a far corner.
United returned to the game just before halftime and took a 2-1 lead in the 88th minute. And although they were just minutes after coming out as winners, Rayan Cherki scored an equalizer in the 95th minute.
The costly errors have become the talk of the game, especially after the pre-match words war between Nemanja Matic and Onana. Matic called Onana one of the worst goalkeepers in Man United history, where he says United are better than Lyon.
The Cameroon goalkeeper quickly made it clear that he didn’t mean anything rude to Lyon before returning to the matic and biting.
Andre Onana stopped by Reuben Amorim
According to the BBC, Reuben Amorim drops the game’s keeper against the Magpie so that he can “rest and cut off.”
The rest is said to be temporary and he is a fight against Lyon to return to the team for Game 2.
Turkey’s International Altai Bay Indeal is set to start in place of the 29-year-old, and if they get a chance, they will have the opportunity to force the first XI.
Onana joined Man United from Inter after an incredible season with the Serie A club, but was unable to live up to his reputation at Old Trafford.
Since the start of last season, he has made eight errors and achieved his goal.
It is still unclear whether Reuben Amorim has kept him at the club beyond this summer or whether he has become part of a massive volume of Exodus.
