Newcastle United’s new sporting director Ross Wilson is set to work on a new contract for key defender Sven Botman in the coming weeks.
The 25-year-old has been a mainstay at Newcastle since joining from Lille a few years ago, and it’s no surprise that his form has attracted interest from other top clubs.
As recently reported in the Daily Briefing, Liverpool are reportedly eyeing Botman as they look for a new centre-back signing, with the club initially considering him in the summer.
Not only has Botman been linked with Liverpool, TBR Football reports that Chelsea, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also fans of his.

The Chronicle’s report provides the latest information on Botman’s future amid links with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.
A new deal for the Dutchman could be finalized quickly, and Wilson looks likely to make it a priority.
Botman’s current contract runs until 2027, and while he is in no particular hurry, it would be wise for the Magpies to resolve this issue sooner rather than later.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea need Sven Botman
Liverpool and Chelsea are two clubs currently in the market for a talented centre-back like Botman.
It’s been a nightmare few weeks for Liverpool in particular. Liverpool have lost six of their last seven games, conceding an astonishing number of goals.
Botman would be ideal to rectify that, giving LFC a long-term replacement for the aging Virgil van Dijk, while Ibrahima Konate will also need an immediate replacement following a lack of progress on a new contract at Anfield.
Chelsea, on the other hand, appear to need better options than Trevo Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo, who have often looked like the weaknesses of Enzo Maresca’s side this season.
