West Ham United reportedly made the offer as they pursued a potential free transfer of Southampton fullback Kyle Walkerpeter this summer.
But Hammer isn’t the only club chasing pedestrians towards the end of their contract at St. Mary’s Stadium.
West Ham wants a Walker Peter, as well as Tottenham and Chelsea, according to a report from Hammers News.
Talking to the site about this potential deal, journalist Graeme Bailey provided insight into the Walker Peters story.
West Ham between Kyle Walker Petter’s Transfer Jobs
West Ham appears to have the most specific interest in Walkerpeter for the time being, Bailey said:
“But there are a lot of clubs, like the Spurs, Palace and Fulham, and even Chelsea are watching him.”
Walker Petter has been a solid performer for Southampton for many years, and it makes sense that many clubs view him as an attractive option as a free agent.
It will be interesting to see how he responds to their offers, as he imagines he can do well in choosing to move to London Stadium.
Still, big clubs like Chelsea hovering don’t often get such a big opportunity, so they’ll captivate Walker Petter.
The Blues still remain a work in progress, but it appears likely that they will be offering European football at Stamford Bridge next season.
Walkerpeter probably isn’t a Chelsea starter, but he may have a role as a team player.
West Ham or Tottenham may be a better option for players.
