Jack Grelish was able to return to Aston Villa, as it could be one of the biggest transfer stories of the summer.
The Manchester City star, who left Villa Park in 2021 due to a record £100 million move, may be returning to his boyhood club, and the deal could include Morgan Rodgers moving in the opposite direction.
The campaign ended with a sour note despite the majority of success under Unai Emery, who reached the Champions League quarterfinals and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.
They could have made it to the FA Cup final, but they bottled it. In the Champions League, they performed well and faced one of their favourites to win, Paris Saint-Germain.
Their league format is up and down, and it is clear that more quality is needed for the team.
Speaking solely to Villa News, former Villa Scout Brian King has revealed that he believes Grelish’s return to the Midlands is likely.
“Grelish is heading back to the Midlands.” The king said.
“It’s okay to live where he lives now, but his home is in Midlands.”
“We could see him return to the villa. If there’s a deal about Rogers, I think if Manchester City were chasing those guys, he’d be a part of it.”
From Morgan Rogers to Man City?
Rodgers had an outstanding season under Emery despite his disappointing show against the palace in the FA Cup.
The 22-year-old has scored 14 goals and 13 assists in 50 appearances in all competitions, catching the eye of several top clubs, including Manchester City.
The idea of Grealish Returning will definitely thrill fans, but Aston Villa will make a difficult decision when it comes to Rogers.
At just 22 years old, he has great potential and could become one of the best players in the Premier League in the coming few seasons.
Tottenham, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest are all interested in the movement of the carnivorous plant.
