Manchester United raced this summer to sign Hugo Ekichike from Aintrak Frankfurt.
According to a report by Fichajes, they are making the first move to sign the 22-year-old and have established contact. It is still unclear whether they will follow up on it with official suggestions from the French.
The Bundesliga striker is highly regarded across Europe and will be a quality long-term investment for Manchester United. He has shown his quality in Germany in Frankfurt this past season, and the opportunity to showcase his qualities at Manchester United is fascinating.
Meanwhile, Liverpool and Chelsea are also enthusiastic about their players. Darwin Nunes and Nicholas Jackson will need an upgrade this summer.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has 22 goals and 12 assists in his name this season. His numbers could improve when he’s playing on a better team, along with elite creators like Bruno Fernandez, Mohamed Sarah and Cole Palmer. It’s not yet known where he will end.

Nicholas Jackson | 34 | 18 |
Looking for a price can make movement complicated
Meanwhile, the striker’s move can be complicated due to his asking price. He is valued at 100 million euros and no club would pay such money for unproven talent. There is no doubt that he has a bright future ahead of him, but the German outfits must be more reasonable to their demands.
Ekitike has been labelled in the past as a “very special” talent.
Manchester United also needs to improve other areas of the team, and they can’t afford to go beyond their potential as strikers. Similarly, Liverpool is trapped in Florian Wirtz’s club record move, but it appears unlikely that they will be able to beat the bank for Ekitike.
