Manchester United is reportedly one of the mix clubs for the potential transfer of Espanyol goalkeeper and Arsenal target Joan Garcia.
The Spanish shotstopper is a highly regarded talent that has attracted a lot of interest at this point, and it is still unclear where he can move next.
However, Man UTD has managed to upgrade Andre Onana, but it appears they are one of the teams pursuing trades ahead of this summer.
That’s according to AS, which is named Garcia’s suitor, along with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayer Lebakusen.
Still, Arsenal may already have some advantage in the race for Garcia’s signature.
Arsenal recently held a talk of Joan Garcia’s transfer.
A recent report from Athletic claimed that Arsenal had some debate about signing Garcia using his Champions League trip to Girona.
Mikel Arteta already has David Raya as number one at Emirates Stadium, but he often sets a very high standard for goalkeepers.
Aaron Ramsdale appeared to be set up for many years as the club’s first choice “keeper” keeper until the somewhat surprising deal for Raya came about.
Garcia may initially come as a cover for Raya who has not actually made a mistake in his time as Arsenal’s number one.
But in the long run, the 23-year-old is certainly too good to sit on the bench, so it would be interesting to see how it affects his views on his future.
United may be able to give Garcia a more appealing offer as they will soon take him to replace Onana as number one.
Still, that was a nightmare season at Old Trafford, which means that some top players aren’t sure they’ll be in their current state.
