Manchester United are planning an ambitious move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has established himself as one of the world’s best midfielders, and he was a key player for Real Madrid in recent seasons. He helped them win major trophies and produced the best performances in the big games for them.
Carlo Ancelotti described him as “the most complete player in football” earlier this year. He is also linked to Manchester City and Liverpool.
It’s no surprise that Manchester United are eager to secure his signature. They need a midfield engine like him, and Uruguay International would be an exceptional acquisition. According to a Fichajes report, Manchester United plans to file an offer of around £85 million to get the deal done.
Real Madrid won’t let Federico Valverde leave
Real Madrid rarely sanctions his departure. The South American midfielder is at the peak of his power, and they will want to hold him for as long as possible.
Moreover, midfielders have no reason to look for an exit from a Spanish club. He will want to consistently fight with them for major trophies. Manchester United have been experiencing a period of rebuilding and may not be able to win the league title or the Champions League anytime soon. It would be difficult for them to attract world-class players now.
Plus, Real Madrid is one of the richest clubs in the world and you don’t have to sell the best players. Manchester United will not be able to seduce them with a favorable proposal. Last year, Chelsea were enthusiastic about players.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops. Manchester United will need to improve their midfield options during the summer transfer period if they want to compete for the trophy next season.
