Manchester United are interested in signing Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo at the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has received high praise in Serie A and has established himself as the key first team player in Italian outfits this season. Manchester United may need to quickly replace players like Harry Maguire. And talented young defenders may be ideal for them.
According to Football Insider, players will not be sold for a fee of less than £220 million. However, Manchester United’s pursuit will depend on qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Can Man United make a deal?
It remains to be seen whether they will be able to get trading across the line in the coming weeks. They will face Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the UEFA Europa League and will need to win the tournament to get the contract.
They will also face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea. The London club is looking to add depth to its defensive units, and the 20-year-old will be on the radar.
Comuzzo is a young talent with a bright future and could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for all three Premier League clubs.
Pietro Comuzzo may be seduced
The opportunity to move to the UK could be very exciting for young people, and regular football in the Premier League was able to accelerate his development. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the opportunity to play for them is very appealing.
Arsenal and Chelsea certainly have the finances to continue the contract, so it will be interesting to see if they will follow up on their interests with official offers in the near future.
Fiorentina manager Raffaele Palladino welcomed the talented young defender as a “extraordinary” player. He has the tools to develop into a reliable Premier League defender. Anyone who ends up signing him can get a future star.
