Manchester United and Liverpool have expressed interest in signing Piero Hincapee from Bayer Leverkusen at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Ecuadorian defender has established himself as one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga, and has proven to be a quality acquisition of two Premier League clubs.
According to Sports, the defender has a release clause of 50 million euros on his contract. Liverpool and Manchester United certainly have finances that he can afford. He is also linked to Chelsea.
Liverpool may need a quality central defender in the summer, especially if Virgil van Dick decides to leave the club on a free transfer. He was out of contract in the summer and Liverpool still couldn’t extend his deal.
South American defenders could be the ideal alternative to the Netherlands international. He is versatile enough to work as a left-back, which makes for an extra bonus.

As far as Manchester United is concerned, they will lead to bringing quality alternatives to players like Harry Maguire in the summer. The 23-year-old could form a solid partnership with others such as Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt.
The opportunity to join clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United is extremely exciting for players and will be a huge step for him. He is trying to prove himself at the highest level and establish himself as a reliable performer in the Premier League. His agents recently claim that Hincapy is “ready for the next step.”
Liverpool and Manchester United can provide them with a platform to fight for major trophies. What’s more, the 23-year-old is very young and can easily justify the 50 million euro release clause if he can quickly adapt to the Premier League.
