Man United were desperate to sell Marcus Rashford this summer, and they now offered his services to another European giant.
It is no secret that Rashford will not appear in Ruben Amorim’s future plans. He was impressed that he was rented out at Aston Villa late last season, but so far he hasn’t done enough to show a significant interest in his service. And this is bad news given that Aston Villa is not expected to cause a £40 million purchase clause in an agreement with its Premier League rival.
Real Madrid provided the opportunity to sign Marcus Rashford
So Man United relied on giving him. Although Barcelona has been linked in the past, according to Defensa Central, it is El Clasico rival Real Madrid who was given the option to take the 27-year-old to La Liga.
Real Madrid is thought to be trying to sign a new striker to compete with Killian Mbappe, and in Man United’s eyes, Rashford is perfect for this role on Xabi Alonso’s team. However, the report reveals that the La Liga giants disagree, and at present they are not going to move for him.
Rashford, who registered 11 goals and eight assists during the 2024-25 season, appears to be doomed to leave Man United this summer, but as in the January case, it’s not easy to make a deal due to the Old Trafford Club’s demands.
For now, it remains to be seen whether England International will be able to avoid travel. He is still thought to want Barcelona, but the route is complicated given that he is currently targeting Nico Williams.
