Manchester United are trying to replace Andre Onana as the club’s first choice goalkeeper, and they have identified Marco Carnesecchi as his replacement.
Cameroon International has been extremely poor and needs upgrades since joining Manchester United. Signing the 24-year-old Italian could prove to be a wise decision. However, a report by SportWitness claims he will cost around 50 million euros and that the ratings will scare the English club.
Will Man United move on?
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United have decided to move on to other targets now. Signing quality goalkeepers is a priority for them. They were extremely vulnerable in that division last season. If they want to fight for a major trophy, they have to deal with their weakness.
Carnecchi is doing very well for Atalanta, and he has the quality to succeed in British football as well. He will seek to establish himself as a key player for Manchester United. The opportunity to join one of the world’s biggest clubs would be difficult for him. He certainly hopes that the two clubs can resolve the agreement.
Marco Carnesecchi could be a great investment
Meanwhile, the Italian goalkeeper is still relatively young and improves with coaching and experience. He could prove to be a player worth 50 million euros in the future. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United is ready to invest in him now.
Apart from quality goalkeepers, they should aim to bring quality attacking players. They looked quite untouched in the future. They have already signed Matheus Cunha and should now invest in another wide player and center.
Manchester United were unable to secure European qualifications for next season and finished in the lower half of the table. They will be desperate to bounce back hard.
