Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been criticised for his disappointing performance, with Diogo Costa getting attention as his replacement.
According to a report by Correio da Manha, Manchester United are considering potential alternatives and sent scouts to see FC Porto’s Diogo Costa taking action.
Onana was a very disappointing experience for Manchester United, and his error-prone performance cost his team valuable points. It will be interesting to see if the 29-year-old will improve in the coming weeks and can convince Manchester United to stay with him.
Costa, on the other hand, is doing very well for Porto, and the 25-year-old could prove to be a quality acquisition. He will be a younger and better alternative to Cameroon International.
Costa is unlikely to become a cheap acquisition. He has a release clause of 75 million euros on the deal, and Porto wants his premium. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can negotiate a reasonable deal for players.
Diogo Costa Coud Fancy Man United Move
The opportunity to join a big club like Manchester United is extremely exciting for goalkeepers. It was a big step in his career and he is able to compete in the Premier League regularly. Regular football in the UK will help you improve even further. The 25-year-old is still relatively young for the goalkeeper and was able to improve with his coaching and experience. He has the attributes that will develop into Manchester United’s top goalkeeper.
It’s a disappointing season for Manchester United and they’ll hope to bounce back strong next season. To turn things around, you’ll need quality additions during the summer transfer period. Signing trustworthy goalkeepers in the summer must be one of their top priorities.
