Manchester United are very active in the current summer window and are already tackling the need for additional in key areas of the pitch.
Brian Mbemo was the biggest addition made by Reuben Amorim this summer, with Cameroon International moving from Brentford to Old Trafford on a £71 million deal.
He arrived at the club with real excitement after finding the net 20 times in the last 38 Premier League outings.
However, the prospect of being linked to 25-year-old Mateus Cunha in the attacking area is certainly exciting, passing the threat of a recent attack to the side.
Despite the previous two additions in the final third, more signatures are expected between the present and the end of the window, further highlighting the ambitions of the current owner.
This summer, the latest on United Hunt for United’s new attackers
Benjamin Sesco was one of the biggest names mentioned in the summer move to join United this summer.
A lecture has already begun on the move to land the 22-year-old window. This is part of the club’s finalists to fill in the blanks at the top of the pitch.
But he’s just one of two players currently in their perspective, and Ollie Watkins is another player currently being considered, according to athletics’ Laurie Whitwell.
He claims, like Sesko, the hierarchy is constantly talking to Aston Villa about the 29-year-old’s move, which is considered Amorim’s Premier League proven option.
The report also claims Unai Emery doesn’t want to lose his talisman this summer after scoring 16 times in the league’s final campaign and then putting a £60 million price tag on his head.
United’s latest target is perfect for Mbeumo
Mbeumo hopes to have his own influence at Old Trafford next season, and will take over his incredible form at Brentford.
He can find the backstage of the net himself, but he can also provide others with the opportunity to strengthen his tally after registering seven assists in 2024/25.
Such numbers made him the third highest contributor on the UK’s top flights, highlighting his incredible talent.
However, as mentioned earlier, he is unlikely to be added in such areas of the pitch, which could lead to Watkins’ moves in the near future.
The British covenant may be exciting, but it is something that can allow him to thrive alongside the Cameroonians, as he did during his own spell at Brentford.
The pair last worked together in the championship in the 2019/20 campaign, registering 40 league goals in the final hurdle, leading to a loss in the playoff final.
Both have led them to their current positions in their respective careers by taking various passes after the year ended in the top 10 top 10 in the division.
But they can star together again. Watkins is labelled “incredible” by former professional Stephen Warnock, who can become the recipient of Mbeumo’s impressive assist tally.
He was able to register 1.4 shots on targets per 90 with 44% accuracy last season, allowing him to change the fate of the side within the last third.

Watkins’ all-round abilities are further reflected in his tally of 1.9 air winning, with the ability to add a new dimension to the Red Devils’ frontline through upcoming campaigns.
If the pair can rekindle their impressive partnership together at Old Trafford, the sides will have a chance to launch England’s top flight with Amorim’s first full campaign.
While it may prove to be an expensive addition, it provides the excitement the fanbase lacked in the attacking area, making the Red Devils a force to be considered once again.
