Manchester United have made several key moves in the transfer market over the past few weeks, with Matheus Cunha completing his transition to Old Trafford from 26/2025.
The Brazilian was able to join the club with striker Victor Gyoker.
He has registered 54 goals in 52 appearances throughout 2024/25, bringing a strong interest in his service over the past few months, and the Red Devils have been interested in his signature.
This week he was reported to be open to switch to Old Trafford. Arsenal is another aspect of the race where the 27-year-old lands during the offseason.
However, the club should look past Gyoker’s moves and prioritize another talisman move instead, helping the club reach the next level in the near future.
The latest on United Hunt for United’s new strikers this summer
Despite only the windows open on Sunday, United wasted no time pursuing options to help Amorim’s team within the final third of Old Trafford’s pitch.
Antoine Semeño, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Liam Dellup have all been on the radar for the past few weeks, but have missed the latter after agreeing to a £30 million deal with Premier League rival Chelsea.
However, they moved to land Napoli striker Victor Osimen, who spent the current season loaned out at Galatasarei on the Turkish side, scoring 37 points in 41 appearances in all competitions.
A report by sports witnesses from Corriere del Mezzogiono confirmed that the Red Devils are in contact with Serie A outfit over the Nigerian contract, which has a release clause of 75 million euros (£67 million) in the current transaction.
Amorim’s side may have supported the 26-year-old’s pursuit after rejecting a proposal from Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal.
Why United’s £67 million goal will be Amorim’s great signing
Manchester City striker Ehringhaaland has been a player who has lit up the Premier League over the past few seasons, and often can be annoying to countless backlines.
The Norwegians scored an astounding 121 in 142 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side.
Such talents don’t appear very often. The Red Devils previously gave them the opportunity to land an amulet under the control of All-Gunnar Solskiger.
A few years later, Haaland is now arguably one of Europe’s most dangerous strikers, highlighting United’s hierarchy of not pursuing the 24-year-old’s move.
But this summer, it could all be changed by United’s latest target, Osimhen, and in recent months he’s been called “even better than Haaland” by agent Andrea D’Amico.
This season, when we dig into each of the statistics, the Nigerians are able to make him better in many important areas and back up statements that may seem far apart.
Osimhen scored more goals than Haaland throughout 2024/25, but posted higher shots at target ratings. In front of the goal, we present the clinical edge owned by Norwegians.

He also won more air fights in such divisions and higher success rates in such divisions.
The lender advantage has not stopped, completing almost double take-on in 2024/25 and has all round skill sets that will strengthen Old Trafford’s offensive division.
Osimhen’s £67 million move may seem steep after already blowing £62.5 million with Cunha this summer, but it will change the sides based on his numbers this season.
If he makes the journey and goes anywhere near the level Haaland created on the UK’s top flight, it will be an absolute bargain – bringing the club closer to its former glory.
